Spacetime Photography

Photographs slice time into predetermined time intervals that give, one often hopes, sharp images. Although our vision absorbs light in a continuous flow, our brain is not. It take slices of images, either sharp or blurred, and blends them into sequences. It is the impressions of these sequences that are burned into our mind as a memories.

In order to preserve memories of vibes, pulses of places, and movements of objects through time, and make them a spacetime experience in two dimensional images, I used, at each spot, a series of photographs that were taken within seconds or minutes of each other.

I then used different combinations of preplanned photography styles with sophisticated postprocessing methods, some of which I’ve invented on my own.
